THE POLE IS IN: CHECKING OUT OF MEXICO! [Adventure #114]

Finally!! The day had come! After 1.5 years in Mexico, it’s time to go through all the formalities of checking out – complete with an inspection by Customs, document checks and paperwork from Immigration, and obtaining the all-important Zarpe from the Port Captain! But before we check out, we finish up the last project holding us here – our whisker pole repair! With a new aluminum tube, we are able to make a new extension for the pole. Then, it’s onto provisioning at the local market and giving Varuna a good clean before our sail South!
