We Find A WEIRD and MAGICAL World! - Sailing Turtle

We often like to find unique, possibly secluded sites for riding out a storm because it gives us something to do off the boat. After an awesome time in Nassau, we pushed off and found Hatchet Bay, Alice town in Eleuthra. And a simple snorkel nearby revealed a world that we would have completely missed. Not marked on any site as a place worthy of snorkeling because there is no coral reef there in the traditional sense, a few feet from our anchored boat shocked us as it was exploding with the most gorgeous and abundant jellyfish life we’ve ever seen. The upside down jellyfish was a site to see, with the massive variety of colors and sizes along with the more unique ocean flora we’ve seen in the Bahamas. And to top this this off, we also find our way to Sweetings pond, an actual SEAHORSE NATIONAL PARK!! The incredible worlds that sailing has introduced us to and the sites we would have never seen or experiences we would have never had always humbles me.

We are Dev (pronounced Dave) and Spandana (pronounced Spun-The-Nuh), a software engineer and developmental behavioral pediatrician, who gave up everything. Less than 6 months after learning how to sail, we bought a sailboat and jumped into full time cruising.
