The famous Jaisalmer Camel Safari into the Thar Desert | Jaisalmer Part 2 (N. India Ep 21)
A camel safari into the Thar Desert is an absolute must do in Jaisalmer and we booked an overnight safari through out guesthouse. We started with a visit to the historic Jaisiri Lak, a little oasis, then visited the ruins of Kava Fort. These activities pretty much killed some time until it got cool enough to mount our camels and head off.
Riding a camel through the beautiful Sam Sand Dunes was a special experience. After an amazing sunset and big desert meal, we slept under the stars. Wow!. Even a fall off Al's camel on the way back did nothing to detract from this fun adventure.
On our last day in Jaisalmer we visited a beautiful historic Haveli, and had a sunset dinner on a rooftop restaurant at the top of the fort. Such a great city!

Al, from New Zealand and Kel from Australia met through work in 2010 and have been together ever since. Always infected by the travel bug they finally decided to head off on an adventure and started with Vietnam and Laos before heading to Sri Lanka, India, then Cambodia and Indonesia. Leave to Roam
We are Kel and Al, a couple from New Zealand and Australia who have always had a passion for travel. In January 2018 we left our full time jobs and started to travel the world. We spent two years travelling on a budget through South East Asia documenting our adventures as we went before we found a new dream, to buy a boat! Fours years of hard work scrimping and saving led us to our dream. We introduce you to our home Dakini. She is a 2010 Lagoon 421 and we love her. Purchased in Greece we started our adventure cruising the greek islands. Two years later we have sailed all over Greece, Italy, Turkey and Malta with a winter in Tunisia. Our plan for 2026 is to explore Albania, Italy, Malta, France and Spain before the biggest adventure of our lives, crossing the Atlantic around New Years. Exciting times ahead.
