Wilsonians is a sailing club that is run by its members, for its members. As such we all give up a couple of Sundays each year to help run things.

Just a fun day out for the whole club.
Yacht and dinghy racing for people that like racing, a fancy dress sail past for those that don't and plenty of other fun activities for the rest of the family.
So after all the hard work we finally get to have some fun on Rowena, our Red Fox trailer sailer yacht.
The wind was pretty strong for the journey down river, and dead on the nose, so as we wanted to make use of the high tide and explore some of the cree...
It seems to have taken ages but we finally have our Red Fox ready for the water. Its not finished but its close enough and we are itching to go sailing.

It was a lovely day but with not a lot of wind. Hannah joined our friend Tony on his V3000 trapeze dinghy, and Izzy and Daddy filmed the action from Granddads boat.
Reasonable turn out of competitors given the weather and I think we caught most people on ...
That's it, ready or not we are packing up our Red Fox trailer sailor and taking her down to the boat club.
Well have her in the water soon then we can begin our next series of adventures.
It was an overcast but other wise pleasant evening with a nice gentle breeze from the west and an incoming tide so we all decided to go for a sail on daddy's Blaze dinghy.
The Blaze is not really a cruising boat and we were worried that a) we wouldn't all...
Things are coming along. The electronics are nearly done, although until we get the mast up they cant be completed.
So we are now sorting out the rest of the stuff inside, this is just an update on progress so far.
There is lots to do, but we thought we would start with the electrics. At least this way we will have some working lights to help with the other work that needs doing, which invariably gets done after work... in the dark
It was saturday the 9th of May and Wilsonians sailing club held its annual open day. This year's event was as well organised as ever and saw loads of club members helping out. Ian volunteered and was tasked with taking visitors out in one of the clubs ding...
We bought our Red Fox, Rowena, in December and have slowly been renovating her and getting her back in ship shape order, ready for the water.
This is just a glimpse of what we have been up to with more films to follow
As you will know if you have been following our films we sold our SunFast 32i at the end of last season however Nanny and Grandad still have Pintail, their Victoria 34, and todays film shows her going back in the water ready for the 2015 sailing season.
A...
This is the last in our series of films covering our 2014 holiday up the east coast of England. We had some miserable weather but also, ironically, on the penultimate day we also had some lovely light winds, flat water messing around in boats kind of weat...
This was the last race in the warm up series and took place in the afternoon, close to high water. So although the weather hadn't improved since race 9 there was now at least plenty of water to set the course in.

It was an overcast and pretty miserable day that greeted the competitors for the last two races in the wilsonians warm up series but with again a puffy F3 wind it didnt stop people from competing.
Izzy and I were assistant race officers so didn't get to d...
So we dont pretend to be experts at tidal river sailing or for that matter Blaze sailing but for what its worth this is what Ian was doing during the first lap of Sundays race in his Blaze dinghy.
It might be of interest to some or it might not, you can ...
With a good forecast and with what turned out to be great weather to go sailing in a few more members turned up for race 5 of the Wilsonian Dinghy club 2015 warm up series on the river Medway in Kent, England.
So we had a puffy F3 breeze to play with, an ...
This film starts with us leaving the river Deben however it didn't all go to plan. Pintail actually went aground and after getting herself off found she then had a horrible noise coming from the engine/propeller.
Still we made it over the to river Orwell ...
I expect the forecast of F5-F8 and freezing rain !! had kept people away but a few hardy souls turned up for race 1 of the Wilsonian Dinghy club 2015 warm up series on the river Medway in Kent, England.
It turned out to be a chilly F2-4 with some big gust...
So this is part one of our summer cruise up the east coast of england. Starting from our home in the Medway we made our way up the coast to Shotley marina at the entrance to the River Orwell, and then from here headed over to the river Deban and the Tidemi...
