Leaving paradise and heading north for winter. It seems a little backwards. We've been in the Florida Keys for quite some time and needed a change. Before leaving we checked out systems, safety gear, and more.
Smooth sailing north and decided to stop at ...
We upgrade our anchor and chain, replacing our Chinese knock-off Bruce with a shiny new Spade. Ryan also refurbishes a Katadyn/PUR 40E water maker and installs a cockpit/deck shower. We finish off lots of other jobs ready for launch day, while Chicho the g...
In this episode of Sailing Dark Angel, we finally get off the mooring and head offshore, but anchoring becomes an issue when our Lofrans Tigress windlass fails. At least we finally get to hang out with Anthony again! He was the first really good friend we ...
The Lofrans Tigres horizontal windlass is one of the most common electric windlasses in use on cruising sailboats. It's time-tested, reliable, and spare parts are typically easy to come by so it seems like a great fit for our Westsail 42 sailboat. The inst...

A big failure on the have beeb seen by one of our subscribers and we will repair that. We have also worked on our closet and get all our boat-stuff down in the boat.
We have booked the crane and been on the hard.
The sound that we have from the "engine-area", could be from our new propeller and therefore, we decided to go on there hard.
We grind the edges on the prop... Problem solved :)
We have bought batteries to the bow thruster and will start the installation. The outside hull is washed and we will prepare the antifouling-application.

Getting a few jobs done before the end of the year.
Fitting the water trap on the Chinese diesel heater exhaust. Water trap works fine; but problems with the heatproof tape.
Washboards are now ready for epoxy and varnish.
New solar powered ventilator fan....
We have started to close some of the holes in the bottom, but we get an challenge and could not handle the moisture on the hull due to the low outside temperature.
Der er blevet skåret lidt mere af fundamentet og så er der blevet slebet, så det er klar til glasfiber.
