Cuba had been on my bucket list for a long long time and I nearly had to leave Karl behind to meet my friend Anna on time in Havanna...so it was even more exciting when everything did work out in the end and I got to sail from Isla Mujeres to Isla Juventud...
After four nights at sea, I arrived in Isla Mujeres (Mexiko), the Island of Women. My friend Maria's parents live there on their boat Rejoice and Maria flew in from Panama to visit us.

Karl, Matthieu and me were actually heading for the Bay Islands of Honduras...But we were sailing a bad angle to the wind, pushing us into the banks of Nicaragua and Matthieu was seasick and could hardly move...so I decided to find some shelter in Providen...
One more week in San Andres, waiting for a reasonable weather window to head further up north. Matthieu and me have been exploring the island with a scooter and Karl got his usual TLC as well, of course.
We are all set to take off to Guanaja (Honduras)! B...
Finally I am leaving the San Blas Islands to go on my so far longest single handed sail of about 250nm north west to San Andres. Karl and me had a beautiful passage and it felt do good to be out and about!

No, I did not make it to Cuba...I decided to head back to the San Blas Islands and to head north after that. On the way back there, a couple of things went wrong...and I had the feeling that maybe it was best to sell good old Karl and end this little adven...
Sometimes everything seems to happen all at once and I find myself overwhelmed, feeling lonely and exhausted. But usually, in the end, there is a solution to most things...you just have to get up and fight for it!
But although I got Karl more or less ship...
On my own again...and first thing on the list: do a tour around the old town on my Brompton bike! Come and check out the beautiful Cartagena with me!
