After our first sail on our small sailboat, Atticus, we head off on our first short passage to the Dry Tortugas National Park. Sailing to the Dry Tortugas from Key West, Florida is a relatively short journey of roughly 70 Nautical Miles and should take about 16 hours. But much of that distance is across open ocean, beyond the view of land. This is our first time taking Atticus offshore and we are both nervous and insanely excited! After years of hard work we’re about to make our very first landfall aboard Atticus!
