This week Violet 🐾 and I decided to do something a little different and get off the boat for a while. Instead of grinding on boat projects, we headed up the coast for a hike… and quickly realized we might have chosen the worst possible day.
The fog rolled in so thick you could barely see the Pacific Ocean — even standing right on the cliffs.
But sometimes the unexpected turns into the best adventure.

Jonathan sold everything in Ohio to purchase a neglected 1996 Henry Morgan 57 in the Northern California. Operating under the channel Sailing UV, he and his 100lb Doberman, Violet, are currently executing a massive technical refit near Sausalito. As of 2026, the project focuses on heavy electrical diagnostics and advanced gyro stabilization before attempting a global circumnavigation.
