Catamarans can’t sail upwind…catamarans sail poorly…. Critics say that cats don’t sail well or sail as well as monohulls….but the boat may not be to blame…it could be your powerplant instead….and the powerplant are you sails. So before you sell your “slow, heavy cat” for something more “performance” oriented, take a good long look at your sails. They aren’t the tires on your boat…they are then engine. You may need new sails.
