Our first experiences in Rajasthan's Pink City | Jaipur, India (N. India Ep 5)
Jaipur is known throughout Rajasthan and India as the Pink City due the multitude of 'pink' buildings. We arrived by a short train ride from Agra and orientated ourselves by exploring the streets and bazaars of Jaipur on foot. We soon discovered that Jaipur has some great street food options, and as usual tried to sample them all on the first day!
Jaipur is an amazingly colourful city, with the people and bazaars competing to see what can be the most colourful attraction as we walked the backstreets and the main bazaars of this interesting city. A real highlight of our first few days in Jaipur was watching a movie at the famous Raj Mandir, rated by CNN as the third most entertaining cinema in the world!
We have loads of tourist attractions left to visit in Jaipur, and were left pretty excited by what we had got up to in our first few days here. Stay tuned for part two.

Al, from New Zealand and Kel from Australia met through work in 2010 and have been together ever since. Always infected by the travel bug they finally decided to head off on an adventure and started with Vietnam and Laos before heading to Sri Lanka, India, then Cambodia and Indonesia. Their mission is to explore as many off the beaten track places as possible through a slow travel philosophy on a tight budget.

Leave to Roam
We are Kel and Al, a couple from New Zealand and Australia who have always had a passion for travel. In January 2018 we left our full time jobs and started to travel the world. We spent two years travelling on a budget through South East Asia documenting our adventures as we went before we found a new dream, to buy a boat! Fours years of hard work scrimping and saving led us to our dream. We introduce you to our home Dakini. She is a 2010 Lagoon 421 and we love her. Purchased in Greece we started our adventure cruising the greek islands. Two years later we have sailed all over Greece, Italy, Turkey and Malta with a winter in Tunisia. Our plan for 2026 is to explore Albania, Italy, Malta, France and Spain before the biggest adventure of our lives, crossing the Atlantic around New Years. Exciting times ahead.
