Sooner or later if you anchor often enough you WILL get your anchor stuck. Whether it’s under a rock, or on an piece of junk on the sea bed, if your anchor fluke works its way under something then it can be very difficult to get it out.
If you are anchoring in a known anchorage to have foul ground then you’ld be wise to use a trip buoy from the start, but trip buoys are a pain to use at the best of times which is why you rarely, if ever, see them used.
So what do you do if you get your anchor really stuck?
Well this happened to us recently and we showed some of if in the episode. Many people wanted to see more of the procedure we went through to get it unstuck and the use of the Ultra Anchor Ring, which is what finally got it unstuck for us.
