Our passage down South Africa’s infamous Wild Coast was never going to be straightforward.

With the powerful Agulhas Current racing south along the shoreline, no safe harbours to take cover, and weather that can change in a matter of hours, choosing the right weather window was critical. But just a few hours after leaving Durban, an unexpected lightning storm forced us into a decision we’d never had to make before…

Join us as we navigate one of the world’s most respected stretches of coastline, dodge lightning at sea, ride the Agulhas Current, encounter incredible wildlife and finally make landfall through the spectacular Knysna Heads.

If you enjoy authentic family sailing adventures, ocean passages, weather routing and life aboard our Leopard 46 catamaran, we’d love to have you along for the journey.
