After the holidays each year the island of Key West is left with thousands of unwanted Christmas trees. The only choice is to put them on garbage trucks and send them back up the keys, but the locals have a better solution (and a much more fun one).
Every year locals gather Christmas trees and shuttle them out to uninhabited mangrove Islands in Key West’s back country. Friends and neighbors from all generations get together to share drinks and stories as they watch the Christmas trees burn. Island life is simple, but great!
