Re-greasing your winches every year is something a lot of people don’t get around to doing. It can be a chore to do especially if you’re somewhere with bad weather in the off season.
It is well worth doing however as it will make your expensive winch last must longer and work much better (having a pawl stick close can allow the winch to slip and be dangerous)
We have Lewmar winches, but the procedure is very similar with other winches. There are other videos out there, but when I looked the only good ones I found were people dismantling new winches. Well I think you need to see a used winch stripped down to really see what you’re up against which is why I made this video.
