Absolutely stunning Plitvice Lakes & Zagreb - love Croatia! (Sailing Dakini - Leave to Roam Ep. 78)
It's Kel, Helen and Pete's last few days in Croatia before Kel returns to Dakini and their first stop is the truly stunning Plitvice Lakes national park. Waterfalls for miles, crystal clear water and gorgeous forests. Yes this is a unique and incredible area of natural beauty.
After the park it is off to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. More beautiful European architecture, streets, museums, the botaniac gardens and and even a lovely cemetery. Everyone looks like they are having a great time, but it is definitely time for Kel to return home.

Al, from New Zealand and Kel from Australia met through work in 2010 and have been together ever since. Always infected by the travel bug they finally decided to head off on an adventure and started with Vietnam and Laos before heading to Sri Lanka, India, then Cambodia and Indonesia. Their mission is to explore as many off the beaten track places as possible through a slow travel philosophy on a tight budget.
UPDATE!!! After a few years of saving (thanks Covid) they finally did it. They now own DAKINI, a gorgeous Lagoon 421, and are (re) learning to sail while exploring the Mediterranean.

Leave to Roam
We are Kel and Al, a couple from New Zealand and Australia who have always had a passion for travel. In January 2018 we left our full time jobs and started to travel the world. We spent two years travelling on a budget through South East Asia documenting our adventures as we went before we found a new dream, to buy a boat! Fours years of hard work scrimping and saving led us to our dream. We introduce you to our home Dakini. She is a 2010 Lagoon 421 and we love her. Purchased in Greece we started our adventure cruising the greek islands. Two years later we have sailed all over Greece, Italy, Turkey and Malta with a winter in Tunisia. Our plan for 2026 is to explore Albania, Italy, Malta, France and Spain before the biggest adventure of our lives, crossing the Atlantic around New Years. Exciting times ahead.
