Last week on the World on Water, we saw how Boris Herrmann on Malizia have a halyard failure, and his head sail fell into the ocean, ahead of his foiling Imoca. One of the associated  problems with this, was the halyard tore a section in the top of the mast.
This is how they  fixed the mast in the rolling Southern Ocean.

While Nico Poons’ Charisma, the 2022 44Cup Champion, is the event’s runaway leader, albeit still catchable, on day three of the 44Cup Oman several other teams had the opportunity to shine.

1st Qualifier in the British Iluka 6 can be considered that it is done and dusted. Jon Emmett the British Master Coach and Ilka 6 Champion chats with Sam Whaley and Ben Elvin both also from Great Britain. Congratulations Jon.

Who would have thought this, but Emirates Team New Zealand has announced that their Cyclors are back. But it’s not just hours on the bike, everyone plays a role in getting Te Rehutai back on the water.

After several days of preparation, the first race day at the 43rd St Maarten Heineken Regatta saw the competitors streaming out through the lifting bridge into the open waters of Simpson Bay.
The day’s courses were designed to send the fleet to the windward side of the island, and the wind delivered more than the low teens forecasted.

In the opening race on the fourth day of racing in the 44 cup, Peninsula Racing was the runaway winner. This compressed the leaderboard points but only slightly, with Ceeref coming home second and Charisma fourth.
As result Charisma finished eighth, while another second for Ceeref caused Igor Lah’s team to take the lead by one point  

The presence of more than 1000 competitors plus families, friends and supporters at the 43rd St Maarten Heineken Regatta is creating a stir not only onshore, but also on the water, as Day Two’s racing took most of the sailors over to the French side of the island.
