The Ocean Race Europe saw another foiling yacht crash in Cascais as the fleet departed on Leg 2.
Charlie Enright and his US Team in 11th Hour Racing, crashed into a parked yacht, in a last minute dodging manoeuvre. They damaged their foil and had to replace it with a “Hull Plug.” They started two hours later.
We show last Sunday’s start of Leg 2 from Cascais to Alicante in Spain in the Mediterranean which transits the tides and gales of the straights of Gibraltar.
The RORC is seeing a large entry list of IMOCA 60 yachts in the coming Rolex Fastnet Race. This edition sees the finish in France and a lot of planning is going into how to accommodate all the international sailors.
The Foiling fleet of JF 35’s had their regatta last weekend and Realteam Sailing owned by Esteban Garcia and co-skippered by Jérôme Clerc triumphed on the final day of the TF35 Mies, with wins in both races before a lack of breeze ended the day early.
After a successful 2020 event in late October last year, a fleet of 38 women and 69 men windsurfers gathered on Lake Garda for the 2021, iQFOiL International Games, hosted by Univela Sailing, in Campione del Garda.
Day 6 is the Medal Race Day of the Hempel World Sailing Series Twenty Twenty One Allianz Cup in Medemblik Netherlands.
