Sam Davies of Initiative Coeur fame has a new IMOCA 60 boat, built for the 2024 Vendee Globe Race. The boats’ foils are streamlined wings that move in the water, and transmit a lift force to make it take off at downwind speeds. They bring a significant gain in performance and speed.
The RORC’s bi-annual Rolex Fastnet Race will be held again in 2023.
Starting in Cowes on the Isle Of Wight, and heading west to round the Fastnet light off the coast of Ireland, to return to finish in Cherbourg France. It is the biggest offshore race in Sailing.
Day 2 of KiteFoil World Series Gizzeria produced slightly lighter winds, and threw some subtly different challenges at the 96 riders competing in the south of Italy.
