Alfa Romeo (now Black Jack), Wild Oats XI, Leopard 3 Super Maxis led the fleet out of Sydney on December 26 2009 into a race of many weather transitions.
This full documentary covers the Big Boat start and the Second Starting line where it was upper pandermonium. The large number of boats in this fleet saw collisions, barging, penalty turns and, it’s all here in our coverage.
Never before had we seen such action included in a video in the race’s modern history.
Included are interviews with the major players, Neville Creighton, Mike Slade, Mark Richards, Niklas Zennstron, Tim Powell, Ray Davies, Steve Hayles, Bob Steel, Matt Allen, Grant Warrington (see his new mast rebuild), Gordon McGuire, Ray Roberts, Alistair Moore, John Clinton, Ludde Ingvall, Mike Broughton (in an onboard bath) and handicap winner Andrew Saies (Two True) South Australia.
As you can see it is a huge comprehensive record of a yacht race. It covers all the dramas and personalities.
