Benoît Tuduri, first on the line for the 1st stage of the 54th edition of La Solitaire du Figaro
The suspense lasted until the end on the first leg of La Solitaire du Figaro Paprec (Caen – Kinsale). Installed at the controls of the fleet since midday yesterday, Benoît Tuduri (CAPSO – En Cavale) was the first on the finish line of the first stage of La Solitaire du Figaro Paprec between Caen (Calvados) and Kinsale (Ireland) at 08:02:25 French time . It will have taken 3 days 19 hours 00 minutes and 25 seconds to complete the theoretical route of 610 nautical miles for the first leg. In practice, she traveled 648.63 miles at an average speed of 7.13 knots.
After four days and three nights at sea marked by concentration, stress, fatigue, effort and fighting spirit, Benoît Tuduri wins (before the jury) the Beneteau Rookie Trophy. A superb performance for the adopted 29-year-old from Vendée, who is taking part for the first time in the queen race of the French Elite Offshore Racing Championship.
