The 28th CYCA Sydney to Gold Coast Race started on a sparkling Sydney Harbour in light winds on July 27th. Super-maxi Wild Thing drifted first out of the heads as the fleet inside fell into a big wind “hole”. Finally the pressure changed 180 degrees and returned allowing the rest of the fleet to head offshore. The race will be a lottery as the boats hug the shore for favorable winds and currents.
