Sometimes you mess up and it works out for the best. Fortunately for me and Mamadu, I messed up for a better passage. We left early in the morning and about 3 hours into the journey we had to turn around. Why? You’ll have to watch to find out. Once we were finally sailing, we had perfect conditions and averaged about 7 knots which got us into Mindelo earlier than I expected.

He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin.
