After sailing in pretty tough Cape Verde conditions, we find refuge in a bay of the uninhabited island of Santa Luzia. The island is a Nature Reserve. It is the forbidden island of the archipelago. We did not know it was forbidden to visit until we were approached by officials in a small motorboat. The day before we had taken a stroll around the deserted island which is a virtual desert island. Not a soul to been seen. Then we were asked to leave, and we sailed to the next island due East.

Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. It’s their Winded Voyage. A real living adventure series.
