Yes, my steering failed big time. Not the auto pilot, this time. Thank goodness, I used it to steer. I got back safe and took the whole steering system apart and found out what failed. But before that a Winded Voyage fan came to visit Mindelo from Holland to chat with me. He wants to live like me. And we meet another Dutchman. An ex-kick boxing champion at a pool BBQ which ends up partying on Galopin with girls. It’s life aboard a sailboat in Mindelo Cabo Verde.

An older dude who feels 30 sails the world on a small yacht and tells his live large adventures. Follow him from the beginning when he looks for a sailboat and buys it. Earns his Swiss offshore sailing license and refits his boat. Then sails alone from the south of France along the Spanish coast to Tangiers Morocco. On to the Canary Islands where he learned how to manage in extreme ocean conditions. Continues south to the Cabo Verde Islands, land of the most beautiful people ever. He learns to speak the local Creole language so to better understand the Cape Verdean culture. To enjoy life, feel young and love again. He recovers from hip replacement surgery and sails on to the great African continent where few sailors dare to go. His story is one of an old geezer living the life of a full time sailor with all it’s perils and pleasures. So hang on, eat, dance, laugh, love and discover the world with him and his boat Galopin. It’s their Winded Voyage. A real living adventure series.
