If you were asked to describe yourself in three words, would any of them be creative? For the longest time, I shied away from exploring my creativity because I thought that people were either born talented or not. But one of the biggest realizations of my 20s is that creativity like any other skill is something that you can learn, something that you can improve, and ultimately something that we are all born with.

And so when we wrote Live Creatively, our recent eBook, we wanted to create a space to support your creative expression in a wholistic manner. Because writing when you’re inspired is one thing, but writing when you’re tired, unmotivated, discouraged, or depressed is a whole different story.

What are the skills we need to create an environment where we feel physically and mentally fit enough to show up every day to work on our craft? For us, it came down to eight different topics. The first one being “Grit”.

And we thought the best way to improve our grit was for the first Live Creatively Challenge to be 30 Days of Cold Showers, which starts today January 7th. But feel free to start it whenever you are ready! The Beginner Level is one minute cold after your normal shower. The Intermediate Level is 5 minutes cold. And the Expert Level is a twelve-minute ice bath every day for the full 30 days. But please, make sure to stay safe and not push yourself beyond your limits. It is critical that you listen to your body. If you have any health conditions please talk to your doctor before starting this challenge.
