Watching this one back, I can feel the tiredness in my voice as I kicked off this video. Sometimes the homestead project fills me with excitement and hope and other times the amount we have to do can feel super overwhelming. The morning we started filming this was definitely the latter. I’m so tired I even said it was 50 degrees and frost and what I meant was 40 degrees and fog, but honestly, it was far more an issue of my exhaustion and mindset than the actual weather. Luckily this day brought me back to life. Time outside as a family, watching projects get checked off the list, and most importantly getting my hands in the dirt and harvesting our first potatoes.
