Wow, this journey with Ody keeps getting crazier! I hope you enjoy all my hilarious faces while learning how use a crowbar, a drill, and experience my first demolition.

Going into this whole build neither of us had ever been car owners, but Lou definitely has experience building things. When he was in college he built a humungous brick pizza oven on his own. Along with painting the outside of his house one summer, and all these other things he learned growing up in the country : )

Me on the other hand, my dad is super super incredible and can fix almost anything. He and my mom met in high school and spent all their weekends fixing up his car, then got married and continued learning all the skills needed to be good homeowners. They even renovated a few homes before they had kids learning drywalling, tiling, painting, the whole nine yards.

So while I never was interested in home improvement growing up, now I’m kicking myself that I didn’t take the time to learn all these necessary skills from my parents like plumbing and carpentry. BUT there’s no time like the present and slowly but surely Lou and I are learning all the skills we need to keep Ody safe, renovate him, and I know this is only the first big project of many in our future.

One day we dream about building our own self-sustaining property in Hawaii all on our own, so we have a lot of learning to do before then!

Love from Spain,
Dana (& Lou)
