Shooting Super 8 with Frannerd in Brooklyn

Super 8 is one of the most iconic ways to capture memories and I’m so grateful we brought it along when we went to visit our friend, Fran’s studio in Brooklyn back in February. Her Youtube Channel is Fran Meneses and her Instagram is http://instagram.com/frannerd

The home footage from this day in New York is something I know I will cherish forever. It was a wonderful activity to make this special reunion even better. With my second roll of Kodak 50D, I wanted to focus on keeping the exposure bright enough and also getting things in focus. I am definitely still getting comfortable with our Canon AutoZoom, but I am really happy with how the footage turned out.

A lot of you wondered where we got the film developed in last week’s video. The service we’ve used to process all our Super 8 is a company called Pro 8mm. We just mail them the undeveloped roll and a memory stick and then they ship the memory stick back to us with the digitized Super 8 footage. It’s definitely expensive, but for us, it’s a great treat and a fun subject for a Youtube video. It’s not something we’d ever do on a weekly basis for the long term, but for this short 3 part series, we thought it was worth the investment.
