So after settling into life at our new cottage, we thought it would be fun to do a quick house tour, and then go check on Penelope in the boatyard and walk through all of our winter plans for the projects we’d like to get done. We’re hoping to install a fridge, redo the bathroom plumbing so the holding tank smell issue gets fixed, redo all three beds, get new rigging, sails, and a bunch of other essential items to get Penelope in the best shape of her life ; ) Last year while we were shopping for sailboats one of the owners we met said: “anything you don’t get done in the first year probably won’t happen in the next 10,” so we are taking that advice and making sure we get as much as possible done on the boat so that when we head out for our circumnavigation things go smoothly. Obviously since Penelopes a Rasmus 35 from 1976 there will always be things to fix, but we’d like to get the major projects done this winter so from here on out its more about maintenance and not redoing the entire kitchen ; ) What’s one project you’ve always meant to tackle but never got around to it?
