Sailing to the Balearic Islands: Nature Bliss, Solitude and of course...Sailboat Repairs

After crossing over from mainland Spain, we’re now sailing the Balearic Islands, soaking up the beauty of nature and enjoying a bit of solitude at anchor. In this episode, I take you along for a slow, reflective morning filled with nature bliss, yoga, and some much-needed me-time. These quiet, grounding moments are a huge part of why I love this liveaboard sailing lifestyle.
But—as always—boat life also comes with surprises. After noticing some movement in the boom during our passage, we discover several loose or missing screws in our in-boom furling system. What starts as a quick fix quickly turns into a full sailboat rigging repair, with Floh removing and reattaching the boom using a lot of creativity, tools, and Loctite.
If you’re curious about the realities of full-time cruising, from peaceful mornings in beautiful places to the constant maintenance that comes with life on a sailboat, this episode offers a little bit of both. We’re also sailing with our two dogs, balancing life as a couple on board while finding our rhythm in new places.

Hi, my name is Nike. With my videos I would like to inspire others to grab hold of their dreams and make them reality. I have always been drawn to the ocean and fascinated by the humbling experience of living close to nature. I had a faint idea that I was made for another lofe than the one that the people around me expected me to live. One day, I dared to follow this instinct and bought a neglected sailboat in Panama that I named KARL. My life turned into a wild rollercoaster of challenges that pushed me way beyond my comfort zone and moments of unknown bliss and inner peace. Over the past years, I had to learn many new skills and tunred my old silboat into a once again sea worthy vessel.
