In the heart of the South Pacific lies the stunningly beautiful archipelago of French Polynesia, a destination that beckons adventure-seekers and sailing enthusiasts alike. This latest episode from weSail, takes us on a journey to one of their last stops in this tropical paradise, offering not only breathtaking vistas but also enriching experiences with local communities.
The crew of weSail, having recently left the island of Maiti in challenging conditions, are now making their way towards Muha, with Marcelo, a local sailor, as their new crew member. With invaluable insider information about the passages ahead and navigating treacherous waters, this sailing adventure is anything but dull. The excitement continues with narrow passes like the one to Muha, presenting both challenges and incredible opportunities for close encounters with wildlife.
In typical weSail style, what stands out the most are the people they meet along their journey. In Muha, the warmth of the locals’ hospitality is unmatched. They offer them not just a place to anchor but also a deeper connection with local culture through food and community gatherings. This episode captures the essence of what makes sailing in remote areas so special— the unexpected human connections that make every voyage memorable.
As weSail prepares to leave the French Polynesian waters, there’s a mix of nostalgia and excitement for what lies ahead. The plan is set towards Saro Reef, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, providing both a strategic weather window for future destinations and an opportunity to explore more hidden gems in this captivating part of the world.
Throughout their journey, the crew of weSail ensures they make the most of every moment, whether it’s exploring uncharted territories or diving into wrecks from a bygone era. This episode not only documents these incredible experiences but also underscores how every decision is made with an eye on enriching their journey through learning and adventure.
This episode marks a poignant moment as the weSail crew prepares to bid adieu to the mesmerizing waters of French Polynesia. It’s an emotional transition, made lighter by the anticipation of what awaits them in their next leg—Tonga and beyond.

Welcome back to another episode of WE|Sail, on this weeks episode, we arrive to the final stop in French Polynesia to an island called Maupiha'a with our deliveries in tow.
A local man, Marcelo, who was returning to his home island from Maupiti was with us and was a very valuable asset to us as we exited Maupiti and now entering the very narrow pass in Maupiha'a.
As a thank you for bringing him home along with the supplies to his family, they hosted us for a delicious lobster dinner!
Thanks for watching the Adventures of WE!
