Introducing Our New Swellfish Inflatable Dinghy | Ch6 E2

In this episode, we’re thrilled to introduce you to our new dinghy – a Swellfish Inflatable Dingy. We’ll share with you what makes it unique and ideal for our adventurous lifestyle, and take you on its maiden voyage.

A Journey from the 10-ft Inflatable to a Better Option

When we first bought our boat, it came with a 10-ft inflatable dinghy that could comfortably accommodate three of us. Although it was larger than our needs and had a sturdy bottom, the inflatable sections were susceptible to damage from sharp rocks and quills found on certain fish.

Understanding these shortcomings, we decided to replace the dinghy with a more suitable option once we hauled the boat out of water for maintenance. This decision was prompted by the need for safety and reliability during our adventures in rugged waters.

The Decision Making Process

Selecting a new dinghy proved to be quite a task. There are numerous options available, each with varying features and materials. After careful consideration of pricing and quality, we finally decided on the Swellfish Inflatable Dingy.

Why Swellfish?

The reasons for choosing the Swellfish model are quite compelling. First and foremost, it is designed to handle rugged adventures like those we frequently embark on. Additionally, it features welded seams made of German PVC and boasts multiple chambers for added stability and safety.

The Swellfish company, based in Canada’s Lower Mainland, is a family-owned business, which further influenced our decision to support their brand.

Setting Up the Dinghy

We unboxed and set up the dingy during our time at Sa Island. One of the standout features is its inflatable floor, which contributes to overall stability.

Test Run on the Water

During our test run, we were pleased with how well the Swellfish handled compared to our previous dingy. The improved stability and straight-line performance left us excited for future adventures.

Features That Set It Apart

The Swellfish Inflatable Dingy comes with several convenient features. Its removable seat has insulation for added comfort, and the seat itself contains a spacious pocket that is water-resistant and expandable.

Conclusion

In conclusion, our new Swellfish Inflatable Dingy has exceeded expectations. With improved stability and a range of practical features, we are eager to take it on more adventures and share them with you. As we continue exploring its capabilities, we encourage you to check out the company’s page for your own dingy needs.
