Embarking on a Restoration Adventure
Taran, Logan, and Max are back with another captivating episode of their sailing journey. This time around, they take us through the intense process of rebuilding their beautiful steel boat after an extensive 2.5 years on land. The Journey Begins
Our tale begins with the group at a highly stressful moment – getting their boat ready to be hauled and taken down the highway. This was just the beginning of their story, as they aimed to rebuild their steel boat into an even stronger version of its former self. The Road to RebuildingThe journey wasn’t smooth; every day in the Boatyard was costing them $60, and they had a goal to be back in the water by May. But with determination, they started working on several projects such as reinstalling their Arch, re-rigging the Mast, and fixing leaks.
The Challenges AheadEvery step of the process came with its own set of challenges. They had to deal with modifications on their Arch, re-wiring parts of the boat, and even fixing a leak in the cockpit drains. Despite these obstacles, they stayed focused on their goal.
A Milestone AchievementThe day finally arrived when they managed to lift their Mast with the help of a professional crane. This was a significant milestone, making them closer than ever to being back on the water.
The Final PushAs they neared their goal of launching into the water, they faced a few final hurdles. Logan had to check and test the engine to ensure it was functioning correctly. But with hard work and persistence, they overcame these challenges.
The Exciting LaunchAfter 2.5 years of painstaking effort, Taran, Logan, and Max finally launched their boat back into the water on a Friday afternoon. This moment symbolized not just their return to sailing but also their resilience and perseverance.
Celebrating SuccessThe journey was filled with challenges, stress, and long hours of work. But in the end, they achieved their goal and were thrilled to see their hard work pay off. They were not only back on the water but also had several improvements to show for it.
What’s Next? With a sense of accomplishment, they set off towards their first destination back on the water. While we’ll have to wait till next week for more information, one thing is certain – their journey has just begun.
A Heartfelt Thank YouThe trio also extends a massive thank you to everyone who’s helped them along this journey. From financial support to moral encouragement, each bit made a difference in reaching this milestone.
As they embark on the next leg of their journey, Taran, Logan, and Max are excited for what lies ahead.Get ready for a mix of exciting projects, explorations, and of course, their unforgettable adventures on the water.
After two years, seven months, and a few days, our steel sailboat is almost ready for the water, and our boat restoration almost finished. But will we be able to get back to cruising, or are we out of touch with the reality of how much time the remaining boat work is going to take?
