A thrilling 450-mile sail lay ahead as the crew set off towards the Two Otus, a massive group of atolls, known for being home to a wealth of beautiful islands. Setting forth on their adventure with calm weather initially, they reveled in some smooth sailing, catching fish and enjoying each other’s company before they were confronted by fierce winds and big waves.
Dodging Coral Bomies In The Two Otus
The vast, untouched beauty of the Two Otus offered them a slice of paradise; however, this came with its dangers. Uncharted coral lumps lay below the surface, presenting hazards to their voyage. With Nick perched high on the mast, ensuring the safe navigation of Elixir through deep waters amidst these challenges.
Sharing Magical Moments In The Lagoons
The untouched and beautiful atolls proved to be a haven, as friends aboard nearby boats gathered for the shared experience. Exploring each day the stunning waters, it was all about appreciating the surrounding paradise with good company.
Embracing The Unique Lifestyle Of Off-Grid Living
The isolation and beauty of these islands brought forth a unique sense of off-grid living. In this dreamlike period, the crew truly embraced their existence in one of Earth’s most remote locations.
Never-A-Downwind Sailing
The pristine beauty continued to captivate them, as they sailed overnight with caution in tow through the low-lying islands that seemed to break up much of the swell. It was during these downwind days that their passion and appreciation for sailing reached a peak.
