Towering pointy rock formations may have appeared slightly mysterious at first glance but as we stepped onto solid ground, it felt absolutely amazing to properly walk again after weeks on our sailboat.

Determined to immerse ourselves in the unparalleled natural beauty of these islands, we ventured deep into lush jungles and discovered an enchanting waterfall. It quickly became apparent that we had stumbled upon what truly is one of the most gorgeous places on Earth.

Welcomed By The Marquianians

The warmth and kindness of the friendly locals in the Marquesas were nothing short of remarkable. They generously shared with us delicious, fresh fruits from their vibrant gardens.

I couldn’t get enough of the pomul MSE, a delectable treat that tastes like an exquisite grapefruit – absolutely perfect after our extended time at sea!

Sailing To Nearby Islands And Discovering Marine Life

After spending a few magical days exploring this breathtaking paradise, we set sail to a neighboring island, eager to witness more of the stunning scenery and perhaps encounter some new marine life. Upon arrival, it seemed as though every possible color and creature emerged from beneath the crystal-clear turquoise waters – a truly mesmerizing sight to behold.

Sharks In The Ocean

At first, we found it slightly challenging and even nerve-wracking to grow accustomed to the sheer number of sharks that swam around our boat. Although they were initially quite daunting, our hosts reassured us that these magnificent creatures are friendly towards humans.

Feeling humbled and incredibly fortunate to have navigated such a remote yet utterly pristine paradise, it hit us that we had truly sailed around the world from our home in the UK.
