PERFECT Gulf Stream crossing Into the WORST haul out Conditions EVER
Okay guys, after almost exactly 3 months in the Bahamas today is a day we have to head back to Florida because we only have like 3 days left in our cruising permit. We have pretty good weather to head back today unfortunately it has been blowing North for the past 2 days so it might be a little rough out there but we should have just enough wind to sail and hopefully this swell will be calmed down from the past few days.

Amazing First Trip Back in Years

>We are sad to leave because we had the most amazing first trip back in years and it just confirmed why we wanted and waited so long for this boat. The perfect Bahamas boat, all this room and having friends and family come visit and just have like the perfect floating platform to do all of our favorite things. We pretty much did every single thing we wanted to do here but without putting that like strict schedule on us it gave us more time to actually enjoy all the places we did go.

Boat Upgrades and Repairs

Now it’s time to go back and do boat work so we have to install a whole bunch more solar panels because we’ve realized that what is on this boat, even though it’s more than double of what we’ve ever had before, is nowhere near enough to keep us going without having to run the engines every couple days.>So we’re adding a bunch more panels and getting a lot of warranty work done. We had a warranty period when we were in Annapolis and a lot of things got worked on but a lot of those things didn’t get done correctly so they’re going to redo some of them and some other things came up as well, so we’re going to redo those.>We have things like our fridge that never worked right, so we’re going to swap that out, and there are just certain components that aren’t working, so we’re going to replace some of them. We’ll be in the boat yard for the next month, which shall be interesting.

Heading Back Through Gulf Stream

But first we have to get back so let’s go sailing and hopefully catch our last fish of this trip that would just make it for us. We’re anchored in Biminy right now and there are not very many good anchorages in Biminy but we’re way back in some like canal of a new marina that’s being built developed and there is also no place really to land the dinghy.>

Leaving The Bahamas

So Billy just dropped us off, I’m going to walk her while he makes his coffee and then he’ll pick us up and we’ll get on the move.
We had great sailing conditions from Bimini back to Florida but our good luck with weather ran out exactly at the time of our haul out. We always say... it could have been worse🤣
