Michael sails into Sydney harbour, then cruises northwards along Australia’s challenging east coast. He escapes tragedy in a gale, navigates the interesting and beautiful islands of the Great Barrier Reef, sailing on to Darwin where he provisions for the Indian Ocean. On a smooth passage to West Timor he’s accompanied by dolphins and light winds. There he explores street markets and villages that have not changed for a thousand years.
