Welcome to Frolic – our new boat!
We have sold our beloved Tartan 4100. As we spend more and more time cruising we felt she didn’t meet our needs as well as possible. She was a good boat and has a fine new owner.
Frolic is a very different boat – an Antares 44i sailing catamaran. We are still getting used to her and are feeling like we are way down on the learning curve again. She is a significantly more complicated boat. But every day aboard we learn more about her.
After moving our stuff aboard we spent a few days on organizing, deciding which of our and which of the former owner’s equipment we wanted to keep, and taking lots of stuff to the thrift store and elsewhere. Then we set off for a shakedown cruise to the Florida Keys. While it was a pretty quick trip it did not disappoint, with some great sailing, beautiful anchorages, dolphins, and more.

The Meri Crew
The Meri Crew: Travel adventure on the high seas, islands, bays, rivers, etc. with Doug, Mj and our family and friends aboard Sailing Vessel Frolic, our new sailing catamaran. We have moved on from our beloved 41' sailboat, Meri, but are still cruising to new places and experiencing new things. For 2024 we will finish up the Eastern Caribbean. Then maybe head north to Nova Scotia or Newfoundland again in the summer, or if things go well we may sail all the way around Newfoundland. All plans right now are still very loose because, well that is just how we like to travel and live. There are so many places near and far we have not been yet. Sailing, snorkeling, scuba diving, fishing, kayaking, yoga, gunk holing, cooking, kiteboarding, windsurfing and wing foiling are staples while we are aboard Frolic. Other times we love water skiing, snowboarding and snow skiing, flying, knitting and other stuff.

We had some great spearfishing and then some heavy wind sailing to finish up our season in the Bahamas.

Chillin in Maine, 2024
We made our third trip to the Maine coast this summer and visited some new spots as well as old favorites. I have to admit we are a bit burned out on producing videos so this is it for the whole summer. We hope you enjoy it.

We spend just a few weeks traveling through the Bahamas on our way back from the Caribbean but have a great time. Mostly we spent our time in the water!
