Carnival in Martinique
March 02, 2023 by The Meri Crew | Language: EN Play Time: 00:08:45 | SAILING YOUTUBERS

This is a pretty focused video on our time in Fort de France for Carnival. What a wild experience! Carnival was quite different than we expected. It was somehow much more a cultural part of Martinique than we expected. 30,000 people in the streets all afternoon and evening for several days running. At least 3/4 of the spectators were costumed. Very little drinking or drug use apparent, but surging drum rhythms driving the party through the streets. The parades move very slowly and go on for hours and hours. There are multiple, simultaneous parade routes and after several hours most of the spectators have joined in, walking either ahead or behind a drum group or DJ truck they like.

Chillin in Maine, 2024
We made our third trip to the Maine coast this summer and visited some new spots as well as old favorites. I have to admit we are a bit burned out on producing videos so this is it for the whole summer. We hope you enjoy it.

The Spanish Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico
We make the short sail from St. Thomas to Culebra, leaving the USVI and entering the Spanish Virgin Islands. We really enjoyed visiting both Culebra and Vieques, they both have a very laid back feel. From Vieques it was another short sail to Puerto Rico...
