Tidal Bore Rafting Shubenacadie River in Nova Scotia
While traveling through Nova Scotia Canada, The Adventure Travelers decided to take a Tidal Bore Wave ride adventure with the Shubenacadie River Runners, in the Bay of Fundy.
Riding the tidal wave of Nova Scotia was spectacular. A tidal bore wave only happens in a few parts of the world. The tidal wave occurs when you have a wide bay that funnels into a narrow channel and causes the water to rise quickly. The wave can start out small but grow to mover 10-12 feet high.
The owner of the Shubenacadie River Runners actually went on the trip with us as the safety dinghy behind all the boats. We did not have to wear helmets because the river bottom is all soft mud.
We were all advised NOT to take anything that was not fully waterproof so we were only able to bring our GoPro camera.
We were fitted with our safety life vests and jackets. The boat was powered by an outboard motor so we didn’t have to paddle.
We give this adventure an honest and solid thumbs up!
