Sailing Mexico - Episode 5 La Paz to Mazatlan
We sail our Island Packet 37 cutter rigged sailboat from La Paz to Mazatlan in this Episode 5. The sail over was very mellow with hardly any wind at all. All that changed the morning we needed to enter Mazatlan Harbor. Winds picked up and the waves across the bar were increasing. I had to surf our sailboat into the harbor entrance. Sketchy.

While in Mazatlan, we check out Old Town, the Malecon, and take a bus trip down to Puerto Vallarta to get some of our mail.
We also rent a car and drive from Puerto Vallarta, through Mexico City, and then to Acapulco. We spend a week in Acapulco, visiting the silver town of Taxco.
We drive up the coast and visit Ixtapa and Manzanillo before returning to Puerto Vallarta.

In our upcoming Episode 6, we sail from Mazatlan to Puerto Vallarta and anchor at the Mexican Galapagos Island of Isla Isabel. Incredible.
