In Episonde 2 we sail from Ensenada to Bahia Tortugas and then sail to Bahia Asuncion on Mexico’s Baja coast.
We get to know our new buddy boaters, Pat and Alaina of S/V Swift Ranger. Little did we know that they were rock stars from the band, Tennis ( https://www.tennis-music.com/ )
After 295 nautical miles, we venture into Bahia Tortugas to top off our jerry jugs with fuel and we meet a wonderful woman named Maria, whose bayside restaurant was burned down about a year before we arrived. She was so nice and made us such an amazing meal that we offered to give our first “Safe Water Sabbatical” water filters to her. We also gave her some makeup and reading glasses that we brought along to donate.
Our boat S/V Harlow Hut departed Bahia Tortugas (Turtle Bay) enroute to Bahia Santa Maria, however since the wind and waves were so brutal for our buddy boaters, we decided to pull in to Bahia Asuncion for a little bit of rest. It was a quick day of sailing with only 56 nautical miles under our keel.
Things start to get a little more sketchy as we make our way down the coast of Mexico.
