How to FIX RV Tow Dolly and PRIUS Tail Lights

The Adventure Travelers (Mike and Melissa) are always on the look out for minor repairs because we know they can lead to major problems if they are not addressed.
Mike was conducting an assessment of our failing tail lights on the EZE Tow Dolly and discovered a loose wire leading to the rear of the tow dolly. This problem was easily fixed by stripping back the ground wire that had fallen off and re-attaching it to the grounding area. As with any electrical issue, be sure you disconnect the power to the tow dolly while working on the fix. It’s also important to add clean DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid when it runs low.
After driving through very hard rain and wind, we noticed there was an accumulation of water in the 2012 Toyota Prius C Hybrid tail lights. The brake lights failed to work and it seemed that this may be a manufactures defect. Both right and left rear brake and back up lights were open to the elements and were not properly sealed by the manufacturer.
After removing the bulbs for replacement, the water poured out of the bulb access hole. After draining the water and cleaning out the algae that had grown inside the tail light housing, Mike was ready to re attach the housing. All the replacement bulbs can be found at Walmart or O’Reilly Auto Parts.
The next step was to make sure the leaking was stopped by placing silicone around the tail light housing and waiting for it to cure for 5 hours. Mike attached the housing back to the car and tested all light functions to make sure the connections were all working.

Doing our daily hike yesterday I almost stepped on two camouflaged rattlesnakes. #Snake #snakes
Red diamond rattlesnakes are everywhere right now. Beware. My father just got bit by one a few days ago and it’s just being released from the hospital today. He is going to rehab for a little while. This is a big rattlesnake right here.
One of these two Red Diamond Rattlesnakes bit my father-in-law today. #snake #snakebites #snakes
I love rattlesnakes, but when they bite my father-in-law, that’s when they aren’t so cute. Beware of rattlesnakes in this unusual heat we’re having in California.
