Ready for an adventure? We sail our yacht to Baja Mexico and into the Sea of Cortez, travel mainland Mexico by car and sail across the ocean to the South Pacific. Our videos will include sailing to Nuku Hiva, Ahe, Rangiroa, Tahiti, Moorea, Huahine, Tahaa, Raiatea, Bora Bora, Hawaii and more. Then we adventure travel in our recreational vehicle (RV) across the USA, Canada and Alaska and explore Utah in depth. My wife Melissa and I want to be stewards to help you live a more adventurous life. From the moment we boarded the Southern Star (one yacht in a small fleet of Capt Andy’s beautiful catamarans), we were welcomed with true, “Aloha” from everyone we came in contact with.
The captain on our yacht was Captain Tony and he went out of his way to make us feel comfortable. He had some great stories and you could see he was a great mentor to his crew, as he had them help with many sailing tasks in a fun and confident way.
This Star sailing adventure gets an early departure from Port Allen on the West shore of Kauai. As we head towards Na Pali you’ll see views of Niihau, Polihale, and the ridges of Kokee. The am departure generally means calmer conditions and virtually ensures an encounter with the massive pod of Hawaiian Spinner dolphins that cruise up the coast daily.
Chef Nicole makes a wonderful breakfast and lunch with food that is locally sourced and all ingredients are crafted by hand.
We always suggest taking Bonine (motion sickness pills) at least 1 hour ahead if you’re prone to seasickness. Melissa uses these from time to time (when seas are huge) and she recommends them.
