Two and a half years we had waited for this moment and boy did it not disappoint! From backing out of the marina and getting stuck on next doors boat, to finding out we had no forward gear and hitting the jetty. This day really, really tested us to say the least. But wow, the minute the sails were hoisted, everything was forgotten and we had a beautiful sail. The yin and the yang.
It is so interesting in the boating world how one moment everything can be going wrong, and the next, everything right. Watching the footage back bought back painful moments (for the boat and for me- Becka!). Seeing myself respond to the stress by internally combusting and asking Paul for help was quite eye opening to look back at..something i really need to work on. But there we go, hoping that sharing our experience makes at least one person out there feel less alone in their boating struggles.
Enjoy the vid.
