*About Us*
We are Becka and Zach, a couple who, in 2020, dreamt of sailing off into the big blue. Trouble is- we were in a pandemic, had a university degree to finish, on a student budget, only had ever sailed dingies, oh and didn't have a boat. The dream seemed not only unrealistic but pretty insane.

However, we worked hard, finished our degrees, worked as many hours as physically possible, saved with all our might, got experience and in March 2022 bought our very own sailboat, Teulu. Having little sailing experience and being a young couple, we have encountered a tonne of hurdles and made plenty of mistakes! but for every downfall, there has always been a reason to dust ourselves off and carry on.

We hope you can join us as we sail around the world and keep #bloodydoingit

Teulu Tribe’s Scariest Times Sailing Around the World on their 40ft Boat

Welcome back to our channel! Today, we’re diving into some of the most exhilarating and scary moments from our sailing adventures around the world on our trusty 40-footer. Get ready as we share with you the stories that will have you at the edge of your seat!

From Calm Seas to Rough Waters

In our previous episodes, we’ve shared glimpses into life aboard our boat as we travel. But not everything has been smooth sailing. As you can imagine, there have been moments where we questioned our abilities and the resilience of our vessel.

The English Channel

One moment stands out as particularly scary – sailing through the English Channel. People often told us that after thousands of miles at sea, this stretch would feel like a walk in the park. However, even today, it remains one of the scariest experiences we’ve had so far.

Navigating through Storms

Another moment that sent chills down our spines was sailing in the North Atlantic during a storm. Winds reaching up to 45 knots made us question if we were truly ready for this journey. The constant lurching and crashing of the waves against our boat had us on high alert, praying for calmer seas.

Learning to Anchor in New Environments

The process of anchoring also had its scary moments. Learning by doing, we’ve anchored our boat in various conditions but the fear of not getting it right can still linger. The spin of the boat as the anchor digs into the sea floor was quite a sight (and sound) to behold!

The Importance of Prebiotics and Postbiotics

In these trying times, it’s the little things that make life on board a bit more bearable. One such thing is taking care of our gut health with a prebiotic, postbiotic, and probiotic supplement called Symbiotic Plus by Ritual. As we traverse remote places getting ‘slushed around,’ supporting our immune system becomes crucial. Even my stomach thanks S Plus because 70% of our immune health is located in our gut. It’s reassuring to know that despite traveling full-time which can throw off our gut’s equilibrium, Symbiotic Plus is there when we need it the most.

Growth Through Challenges

Despite these scary moments, we’ve grown stronger as individuals and partners. Each challenge faced on our journey has been a stepping stone towards mastering the art of sailing. Whether it’s learning how to navigate through stormy seas or finding the perfect spot to anchor in a remote corner of the world, each experience adds another layer of depth to our adventure.

The Future Holds More Excitement

Looking forward, we’re excited about what the Pacific holds for us. We’ve experienced different weather patterns, sea states, and sailing conditions in the Caribbean, but we know that each new destination will bring its own unique challenges and rewards.

The Journey Continues

We want to thank you for joining us on this thrilling journey. Remember, every adventure comes with its scares and thrills – the key is to embrace it all! Keep watching for more exciting stories from our life sailing around the world.
