Hiking to PEN PYCH Waterfall in the RHONDDA VALLEY No. 107
Ah the Pen Pych Waterfall and Rain, what a dynamic duo! We have tried to come to this waterfall a few times but due to the rain, haven’t been too successful. However, today, we decided to pack our waterproofs, plan a route and hike a trail to the waterfall and boy, were we not disappointed!
Starting at the Hendrewen Hotel in Blaenrhondda, we hiked to the waterfall, up onto the Pen Pych ridge (one of only two flat-topped spur mountains in Europe!) and down the other side into a valley. Here, we crossed a river and continued along the valley until we dropped back down to the car.
It was an incredible hike to see the hidden waterfall and we didn’t cross paths with another soul!

Since meeting in 2018, it has always been our dream to buy a sailboat, and after lockdown and coming out of university, this idea seemed not only unrealistic but pretty insane. However, we worked hard, gained experience and in March 2022 bought our dream sailboat, a 1987 Colvic Victor ketch. Having little sailing experience and being a young couple, we have encountered a tonne of hurdles and made plenty of mistakes! but for every downfall, there has always been a reason to dust ourselves off and carry on. So hop on board, join our Teulu and lets see what this ‘living’ business is all about.
