EXPLORING the island many SAIL PAST No. 58
After filling Teulu up with 500L of some of the Ile Sainte islands finest water, we sailed the 20 odd nautical miles South to Portsmouth in Dominica. We had heard that many cruisers skip this place due to the size and lack of marina but there was no way we were about to sail past.
We then celebrate Zach’s birthday, swim in waterfalls, take a boat trip up the Indian River to Calypsos house (any Pirates of the Caribbean fans?) and Becka ends up getting a haircut on a beach you can only access by boat.

Tŷ (a house) & llu (of numerous host). We are Becka and Zach and we want to give you the warmest welcome to the Teulu Tribe. Since meeting in 2018, it has always been our dream to buy a sailboat, and after lockdown and coming out of university, this idea seemed not only unrealistic but pretty insane. However, we worked hard, gained experience and in March 2022 bought our dream sailboat, a 1987 Colvic Victor ketch. Having little sailing experience and being a young couple, we have encountered a tonne of hurdles and made plenty of mistakes! but for every downfall, there has always been a reason to dust ourselves off and carry on. So hop on board, join our Teulu and lets see what this ‘living’ business is all about.
