Costa Rica boasts an astounding 0.98% of its land mass as Costa Rican Coastline, offering a rugged coastline punctuated by cliffs and serene beaches.
A Unique Airbnb Experience in the Mountains
After some time spent on the water, we took a break from sailing to try something new – an adventure above sea level. Our journey took us an hour north of San Jose, where we discovered our extraordinary Airbnb stay in the mountains.
Exploring Costa Rica’s Hidden Waterfalls
Determined to find a reset, we sought solace in the mountains. With a drive south towards San Jose, our destination was the majestic yet hidden waterfalls that promised not only refreshing but spiritually grounding moments amidst Costa Rica’s beauty.
The Enchantment of Organic Strawberries
On our expedition to find the fabled strawberry fields of the mountain, we came across an enchanting organic farm where the strawberries were not just a taste sensation but a part of Costa Rica’s cultural heritage.
The Panamanian Connection
Little did we know, our visit to the Costa Rican National Museum in San Jose would introduce us to the fascinating history of how strawberries became synonymous with both Panama and Europe’s palate.
The Journey Continues
While our time in Costa Rica has come to a close for now, the adventure is far from over. The warmth and culture we experienced during this trip will forever stay with us, urging us on as we seek out more hidden gems.

*About Us*
We are Becka and Zach, a couple who, in 2020, dreamt of sailing off into the big blue. Trouble is- we were in a pandemic, had a university degree to finish, on a student budget, only had ever sailed dingies, oh and didn't have a boat. The dream seemed not only unrealistic but pretty insane.
However, we worked hard, finished our degrees, worked as many hours as physically possible, saved with all our might, got experience and in March 2022 bought our very own sailboat, Teulu. Having little sailing experience and being a young couple, we have encountered a tonne of hurdles and made plenty of mistakes! but for every downfall, there has always been a reason to dust ourselves off and carry on.
