BOAT LIFE: EMERGENCY Sail to UNINHABITED island // Teulu Tribe
July 01, 2024 by Teulu Tribe | Language: EN Play Time: 00:34:38 | SAILING YOUTUBERS

The Teulu Tribe recently found themselves facing an unprecedented challenge during one of their off-the-grid adventures. After encountering a rattling Sail Drive, they made the decision to pull into Cocos Island – a secluded and sparsely-visited island that’s rarely included on sailing routes.
The Unexpected Detour
At first glance, the team at Teulu Tribe might seem unphased by this unexpected detour. Their enthusiasm and excitement are palpable as they approach the island – fueled, in part, by the recommendation of a former National Geographic employee who said that if one has the chance to visit only one place before dying, Cocos Island should be it.
An Unforgettable Experience
Once on the island, they are met with awe-inspiring beauty. With no one else around, the team is greeted by waterfalls falling directly into the ocean, a breathtaking sight made even more special by the absence of human interference. They also have the good fortune to encounter dolphins swimming all around them.
An Unexpected Gift from the Rangers
However, they’re there on official business – assessing and addressing the issue with their Sail Drive. While working on this, the park rangers present an unexpected gesture of friendship: a banana bread, prepared by Zach ahead of time as ‘gift’ to earn permission for them to stop over.
The Return Journey
A few days after addressing their Sail Drive issues and spending some unforgettable moments at the uninhabited island, the Teulu Tribe leaves Cocos Island. They now set sail towards Costa Rica with a wealth of new memories and stories to tell.
The Adventure Continues
This unexpected detour was merely one moment in the vast sailing journey of Teulu Tribe, as they continue to explore remote islands and embrace offshore living. Their adventures are not just limited to personal growth or entertainment; they also aim to spread awareness about conservation efforts across the globe.

*About Us*
We are Becka and Zach, a couple who, in 2020, dreamt of sailing off into the big blue. Trouble is- we were in a pandemic, had a university degree to finish, on a student budget, only had ever sailed dingies, oh and didn't have a boat. The dream seemed not only unrealistic but pretty insane.
However, we worked hard, finished our degrees, worked as many hours as physically possible, saved with all our might, got experience and in March 2022 bought our very own sailboat, Teulu. Having little sailing experience and being a young couple, we have encountered a tonne of hurdles and made plenty of mistakes! but for every downfall, there has always been a reason to dust ourselves off and carry on.
We hope you can join us as we sail around the world and keep #bloodydoingit
